Where are you from?
West Chester, PA.  About 40 minutes West of Philadelphia.

What is your major/minor?

Physics

What do you aspire to do after graduation?

I'm not sure yet.  Go to law school, graduate school for physics, join the Peace Corps... the possibilities are endless.

What notable opportunities have you participated in at SU?

I was able to attend a Q&A with Chief Justice John Roberts, along with Nemal.  That was daunting, as the only first-years in attendance.  Also, I met Dr. Paul Farmer, whose story all incoming students read over the summer.  I was very impressed by both.

What inspired you to attend Syracuse University?
I was first drawn by hearing about the fantastic drama program here.  When I realized that acting wasn't my thing, I applied anyway.  Then I got a letter from the Coronat program, and then the college choice process was over for me.

How has the Coronat Scholarship affected your college experience?

With a stipend and all of my tuition and living costs paid for, I obviously don't need to work.  This has given me time to focus on schoolwork and being involved on campus.  Also, the connections I've forged both with the other scholars are fantastic, and the oppurtunities that come my way due to the scholarship have been really exceptional.  I'm able to take a job in the summer that would in no way be enough money without the scholarship, but will be a really fun experience.

Do you have plans to maximize the opportunities presented by the Coronat
Scholarship?

I plan to travel with the money allotted, either spending a semester abroad or doing one of SU's summer programs if I can't fit in a semester with my academic schedule.

What have been your favorite academic experiences at SU?
Being able to earn academic credit to study saxophone and jazz here has been my favorite sort-of academic experience.  As far as actual school academics go, my class on modern physics was fascinating last semester.

What have been your favorite non-academic experiences at SU?
Two other Coronat scholars play Ultimate Frisbee here at SU.  When I was here interviewing for the scholarship, I met them and had been playing at home.  The Men's Ultimate team, Doom, has by far been my favorite non-academic experience.  They are accepting, fun, and it is a great sport that has done a lot to keep me fit and happy.
