Humanities Center Site Dedication 3 p.m. Tolley Building A celebration of the rich humanistic traditions on campus, including a world premiere by the Syracuse University Brass Ensemble When Nancy Cantor came to Syracuse in 2004, one of her first acts as chancellor was to make a gift of the historic Tolley Administration Building to The College of Arts and Sciences. Two years later, The College is proud to re-dedicate the newly renovated building as the site of The University’s new Humanities Center, as well as the new home of Imagining America, a national consortium whose mission is to strengthen the public role and democratic purposes of the humanities, arts, and design. Thanks to a generous grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Syracuse is in partnership with Cornell University and the University of Rochester in the Central New York Humanities Corridor. These initiatives are evidence of The University’s renewed commitment to humanistic study, public life, and social change. For more information about the Humanities at Syracuse,
