Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I am honored to write to you as new dean of The College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University. Throughout my career, I have traced the rising position of SU in the academic world and have had the privilege of knowing many A&S faculty and alumni. As a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities since 1966, SU has maintained an unrelenting commitment to excellence in scholarship. My predecessor, Cathryn Newton, did an extraordinary job of forging collaborations that propelled us to the strongest point in our 138-year history.

As dean, I pledge to build on this excellence by advancing the strengths of the disciplines and seeking new interdisciplinary collaborations, on and off campus. Thank you, in advance, for your support.
