Pre-Law Advising Services
The Pre-Law Advising is offered through the office of Pre-Professioanl Advising Services. Pre-law advising services are available to all students and alumni of any of the schools and colleges at Syracuse University who are contemplating a legal education.
The Pre-Law Advising Office consists of a director and two pre-law advisors—one of whom is also a career counselor and the other a graduate from SU College of Law working towards a Master's Degree at Maxwell. Together, they provide developmental guidance in selecting courses, academic programs, co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities; exploring career options; and applying to law school.
For students who are considering a career in law, our PreLaw Advising office produces the indispensable handbook, Preparing for the Study of Law: The Lowdown on Law School. This handbook provides information on the legal field, things to consider while preparing for the study of law, and other important information.
