Pre-Professional Advising

Health Professions Advisory Program (HPAP)

The Health Professions Advisory Program offers a range of services for all SU and ESF students and alumni who may be interested in entering a health-related professional school. Academic and career counseling, a resource center, and information on special programs are offered.

HPAP maintains an extensive web site with information and links to professional careers schools and programs, post-baccalaureate programs, summer and research opportunities, centralized application services, professional organizations, etc.

HPAP also offers workshops on topics such as preparation for and application to health-related professional schools, writing personal statements, test preparation, etc. To access our main website, please click here.

HPAP produces the invaluable guide for pre-health students: Words to the Wise (WTTW). Optimally, students planning to enter a health profession school directly after graduation need to start their science pre-requisites in the freshman year. WTTW provides an overview that each pre-health student needs to understand early in the undergraduate years.

For students who have not begun their pre-requisite coursework, HPAP advisors can help you craft a plan to get on track.
