There are available career options related to your major and minor which you may have never even considered. Our professional staff can assist you in all aspects of the career exploration process, including helping you to identify how you can transform your strongest interests, abilities, and skills into a successful and exciting career.

A Liberal Arts degree is also an excellent foundation for students who wish to further their education by pursuing an advanced degree in a graduate or professional school. Again, our professional staff can help you to decide if an advanced degree could be the right path for you.

Career Resource Library
The Advising and Academic Support office owns a collection of books which cover topics such as: general career exploration, choosing a major, pursuing careers in specific fields, resume writing, interview skills, conducting a job search, internships, and applying to graduate school. Many of the books relate specifically to the Arts and Sciences students. These books are available to A&S undergraduate students for loan on a short-term basis. Feel free to stop by our office in Room 329, Hall of Languages, and browse our collection. If you see a book that you wish to borrow, speak to one of our staff who can sign out the book for you.

What Can I Do With A Major In...?
Did you ever ask yourself, what can I do with a major in a particular area of study? The University of Tennessee at Knoxville's "What Can I Do With A Major In...?" (WCIDWAMI) series answers this question by providing suggested career paths and professional association listings for a large number of majors, including many Arts and Sciences majors. Students are encouraged to meet with a member of our professional staff to further explore the connection between choice of major and career path.
